In the Holy Trinity Parish, four different sacramental programmes are run each year (if there are candidates).

They are :

RCIA (it means Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) – for adults wishing to explore full communion with the Church – looking towards receiving the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Communion at the Easter Vigil. Other Liturgical rites : Admission to catechumenate, before Christmas. Rite of election – Lent 1 at the Cathedral – and a rite of ‘sending’ in parish. Scrutinies (for unbaptised only) Sundays of Lent 3, 4 and 5.

RCIC – as above, but for children of catechetical age. They receive all the sacraments together – Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Communion. It has worked best with 9-11 age group

Confirmation – administered by the Bishop in Eastertide. Candidates need to be at least 14 years old. Rites – enrolment, before Christmas. Rite of sending – Sunday before Confirmation. Reconciliation.

First Communion and Reconciliation – for children aged 7-8 – reconciliation in Lent. First Communion in Eastertide. Also Rite of Enrolment, before Christmas.

Baptism preparation (for the Baptism of Infants only) : a three week preparation course, leading to Baptism at a time arranged with the catechist and priest.

Those wishing to receive the sacraments must be attending Mass regualrly (or be willing to begin doing so). Please contact the Parish Office for further details ((361161)
